To grind nuts put nuts through medium blade of food chopper.  Or use electric blender, grinding enough nuts at one time to cover blades.  Cover blender container.  Turning motor off and on helps to throw nuts back into plates.  Grind nuts until the particles are still dry enough to remain separate not oily and compact.  Empty container and grind next batch.  To toast nuts place nuts in a shallow baking pan.  Heat nuts plain or brushed lightly with cooking oil in oven at 350°F until delicately browned.  Stir and turn occasionally.  Or add blanched nuts to a heavy skillet to which butter or margarine, about 1 tablespoon, per cup of nuts has been melted, or use oil.  Stir these into your best jolly jello shots jigglers for a tasty treat

After you have baked your cakes in the various speciality cake pans like decorative, rectangular, or springform, your cakes may be frozen whole or sliced.  Unfortunately sliced cakes tend to dry out.  Whole cakes tend to survive freezer life better.  Take your cakes, brownies, muffins and chew and wrap them in several layers of plastic wrap and put them in an airtight container before freezing. If you want to ship your wonderful baked goodies pack them in a corrugated box and use enough Styrofoam popcorn to make sure that the item doesn’t move in the box during rough handling.  Be sure that the address including the correct zip code and your return address are clearly written on your mailing label.  Cover the mailing label with clear sealing tape so that it cannot become detached or smudged if it gets wet.  Stamp or write the word “perishable” on the box.

I sent my teenage son to the store yesterday to buy some groceries for me.  I also told him he could pick a few things that looked good to him if he wanted to.  He came home about an hour later with a couple bags of groceries dangling from his hands.  As I was pulling them out of the bags to put them away, to my surprise, I found that for one of his choices my teenage son had decided to buy Tofu Shirataki Noodles.  He begged me to use them for dinner tonight, so, like any loving mother would do, I gave in.  He now asks for them quite often.  Your family should try them too.

Steaming your food is one of the best ways to prepare is as far as health, taste, and quality. For me rice has been  one of the most difficult foods to cook. It is always sticky and almost always comes out burned. Burned rice is not only inedible but it is also very difficult to clean up. I have found though that if it is steamed it is almost always perfectly fluffy with very little mess left behind.

There are several types of steamers out there used for preparing rice. There are rice steamers for the stove, microwave and electric rice steamers. I have found the best rice steamer available is the electric steamer. This steamer cooks rice more thoroughly and almost never is the rice overcooked and sticky. When the little automatic timer goes off, that is it. The rice comes out fluffy and ready to eat.
